This may be easier to read if you select the largest font size by clicking on the 'font' button on the toolbar. (On Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may need to click several times.)
After starting, click on 'Try a letter' button in the side frame. Enter in the dialog box:
the letter from the cipher,
followed by an equals sign,
followed by the letter you would like to try.
The format looks like this:
(example) 'h=v' (without quotes)
To replace a letter with a blank the format looks like this:
(example) 'h=' (without quotes)
To reach a position where everything is correct:
Click on the 'Clue' button, and if the message reads:
'some letter' as a replacement for 'another letter' is incorrect., click on the 'Try a letter' button, and enter 'another letter'=.
Example: If the message reads:
'e' as a replacement for 'n' is incorrect.
Click on 'Try a letter' button, and enter 'n='.
Click on the 'Clue' button and repeat the process until the Clue reads:
'Everything is correct so far.'
These instructions are repeated if you click on the 'Hints' link along with some useful information about everyday English.
After starting, the letter counts for each letter in the cipher are given in the side frame for your convenience.
To start over, Refresh the page.
To make it harder, sometimes a letter will not be coded and you may need to enter a letter ciphered to itself (for example, 'c=c').
